The average temperature for this ecoregion is fairly cold - hovering around 25 degree Fahrenheit in recent years.
The West Siberian Taiga receives a large amount of precipitation every year - approximately 21 inches or so. For comparison, the Amazon basin only receives around 20 inches of rainfall annually.
This region is also home to some of the largest swamps and bogs in the world - making up about 40% of the entire ecoregion.
Biological Overview
There is large biodiversity in the West Siberian Taiga, though not as much as the East Siberian Taiga. Most species are relatively "newer" on the evolutionary timeline.
